The Big Burger Debate
The best burger in Toronto? Very debatable. In reality, I don’t think anyone can determine this because everyone has different tastes and every restaurant seems to have their own “trick” in making their burger special. Nonetheless a few weeks ago I asked a few burger lovers to tell me what their favourite Toronto burger spot was and then invited them to join me in tasting some of these favourites. The result was a full day of eating burgers – can you imagine?? Difficult job but someone has to do it!
Joining me were Scott, a music lover who also loves burgers, Val, the ever so charming blogger who can eat more than anyone I know, Stella, the foodie blogger who takes burgers very seriously and of course, my best girl Sam, who like me, loves to eat but watches her waistline so only indulges on occasions like this one. We started off at HolyChuck, then Big Smoke, then Burger’s Priest and ended up at Nota Bene. Watch the video and find out which ones we liked, loved and well, let’s say, didn’t love… Enjoy!

I remember reading tweets as you were on the burger tour. At no point did it occur to me you’d split the burgers up you were eating. I just kept thinking “WOW! They’re really going to eat 4 burgers.”
Hahahhaha!!! Can you imagine?? That would’ve been a little much
The best burger in Toronto is the Steakburger (made with aged beef) at Barberian’s Steakhouse 7 Elm Street Toronto Ontario 416-597-0335 EH!
Ouuu – another place to try!! So many! Thanks fr the tip
Have you had marben’s burger?
Are you asking me?? Of course! It’s my official favourite but I’ve blogged about it twice already
No i wasn’t asking u bahhaha but when i click reply to taylor my comment goes undernearth yours =P
My favourite burger in Toronto is from Burger Bar in Kensington Market. I stumbled upon it quite accidentally but it is definitely another one to add to your list of “must try”. Let me know what you think. Thanks for the post
A little surprised by your results, though I’m glad one of you noted that there is a bit of a difference between in-n-out burgers and fine dining burgers. Still with that, I’m surprised that it was found with Priest’s it was more greasy than Holy Chucks. My experience it was the other way around, with the Holy Chuck burger vs. the Priest burger. However, if you compared hamburgers from both places, then I would agree with your rating, but from your video, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
In terms of Craft aka: Big Smoke; I don’t know if you’ve tried it before they changed names and was once rated #1 burger a few years ago, but there seems to be a change in flavour of their burgers now. Was wondering if the person who nominated that place knows what the story is behind it?
Thanks for the comment! We do these vlogs because everyone has different palettes… so that’s why results vary from person to person
I know a lot of people who prefer Priest’s burger – but on this day, all of us preferred the HolyChuck… Not sure what happened with Craft aka Big Smoke… but that was the least favourite of all we tried. There are sooooo many great burgers in Toronto… as a result we will definitely be doing a part 2! What’s your favourite burger in Toronto?
I think the name change had something to do with copyright laws? Could be wrong…that’s what I heard…
I really like Big Smoke burgers – although I haven’t tried many ‘gourmet’ places in the city. Burger’s Priest is on my list though…meat-tastic.
