The Viamede Adventures of Val & Nicki, Part 1
What a great weekend I had at Viamede Resort on Stoney Lake. A couple of weeks ago I asked Val (www.ImCharmingYou.com) if she wanted to join me in checking out this resort I noticed was getting very friendly on Twitter. Obviously, she jumped at the idea and conveniently it was scheduled for in and around her 30th birthday. What better way to celebrate? It certainly was – we had an absolutely fantastic weekend that consisted of great food, some fun in the sun, amazing views, water sports and just pure pleasure. I am so happy to have discovered this true hidden gem just 2 hours outside of Toronto.
Viamede Resort is located on Stoney Lake and features both resort style rooms and individual waterfront cottages. The beauty is that the amenities are available to all so if you are in a cottage, it’s more like luxury cottage life. They even offer a BBQ menu whereby their guests can order whatever they want to BBQ that evening without having to go to the grocery store. They will deliver exact amounts of whatever your heart’s desire. The other great thing is that all guests have access to the water sports as well to their three restaurants: the main dining room, which serves complimentary breakfast and an a la carte dinner, the Boathouse Pub, which offers a cool cottagy vibe and some fantastic fresh pub food, to The Inn at Mount Julian, which serves a creative gastronomic menu with the freshest ingredients picked from their garden and meats from their farm (check out Val and I playing with the pigs in Part 2 of this vlog).
From the moment we arrived at this beautiful waterfront resort, the vibe was uber friendly and welcoming. We were there 2 nights and experienced almost everything they had to offer. Below is Part 1 of 3 vlogs called “The Viamede Adventures of Val & Nicki”. In part 1 you will see Val and I trying the hottest chicken wings we have ever tried (they use ghost chili…) and popping some champers to toast her birthday. Stay tuned for Part 2 and 3 coming later this week!

I’d be down with their wing challenge. I’ve grown up on fresh ground Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce my entire life. I’d be curious to see how adding freeze dried Ghost Peppers would change the heat. I assume without the seeds it’d lose a significant amount of it’s ridiculous kick.
Our sauce starts with 4 pounds of scotch bonnets and grows from there. We actually grow our own ghost chilies and use them and then a few secret ingredients from a wicked place called firehouse gourmet. It’s one thing to make it hot but everyone comments on the great flavor first. As they say the proof is in the pudding. The record stands at 16 wings so come on out
