TIFF: Q After Dark at the Target Hotel
Some of the hottest parties during TIFF are the ones that fly a bit more under the radar. Did you hear about Q After Dark? If not, here’s the low-down…
Jian Ghomeshi (in case you didn’t know) is a hot personality about town thanks to his hit CBC Radio show Q. (He’s also releasing his first book later this month, 1982.) On TIFF Saturday, his party, with the appropriate moniker Q After Dark, took over the Target Hotel for a late-night rendezvous of Canadian stars. (The Target Hotel was itself a takeover of the Templar Hotel.)
While there’s still debate as to whether the party’s true host was actually Target spokesmodel Bullseye, the event nevertheless saw a bevy of CBCers, Toronto socialites, and fashion icons stopping in, and even Ben Affleck popped by to toast to the host of the arguably loneliest letter. (Though he wandered in briskly to avoid the mini media circus.)
Marie Nicola of Nat&Marie: The Internet’s Aftershow was on-hand to document the star-studded front of the Target/Templar Hotel for View the Vibe, and she even got an exclusive interview with one of the night’s most-lauded personalities… though it was a bit of a ruff one…
