Where to Watch the Euro Cup Final in Toronto
With but four days left until the final Euro Cup 2012 Spain v. Italy match, Toronto sports fans are having a hay-day watching the action with breath bated. This weekend is an interesting one for the city, with Euro Cup 2012, Pride 2012, and Canada Day all falling within the same three-day stretch. (Yes, we’re conditioning our livers now for the debauchery that will soon ensue.) With Euro Cup fever hitting its pitch on Sunday, here’s a rundown of some of the best spots in Toronto to watch the final game.
Habits Gastropub
One of our favourite College Street spots for great food and vibe in the West End, Habits Gastropub is showing the final match on four screens, with chicken wing specials (two flavours available) for $11/lb or $20/2lbs, and select bottles of beer for $3.50.

Brazen Head Pub
Liberty Village’s favourite pub, the Brazen Head has a sweet patio and is a great Toronto join to watch Euro Cup’s final match. They’re featuring a special menu with moules frites, crispy beer and cheddar perogies, and a special fish finger stacked on brioche.
The Musket
Classic German food, a divey but not dirty room, a big screen for the big game…what more could you want? The Musket will be extra rowdy if Germany wins in the semis, but will be a solid spot to watch the Euro Cup in Toronto nonetheless.
Wayne Gretzky’s
The Great One may himself be more of a hockey fan, but there’s no doubt that his popular sports bar will make excellent Euro Cup digs. Check out the game on the screens, order up a pitcher of beer, nosh on some nachos, and watch the action in anticipation.

The Dog and Bear
The Dog and Bear is an authentic British pub on Queen West opened by the boys behind Parts and Labour. It’s gorgeous; its design is comfortably British with antique furniture accents and a wraparound bar large enough to make a beer-loving sports fan stay for more than a few hours. To boot, the food is fantastic, offering guests traditional British fare done right.

School Restaurant
Another excellent choice to watch the final match, School Restaurant is selling out spots on their rad patio to watch the Euro Cup. For $45, you can reserve a table on their patio and get $20 towards food and drinks and a free brunch entree.
Firkin on Yonge
Undoubtedly the swishest Firkin location, Yonge Street’s outpost is classier than the rest, with cool decor and some Brit Punk splashes. They’ve got a mezzanine that overlooks the screens in the centre of the bar. Their special? Get your ‘pitcher’ on for $20.

Cafe Diplomatico
As a massive special for the final game, Cafe Dip is creating Euro Cup headquarters at St. Francis of Assisi. They’ve got two giant video walls, over 30,000 sq. ft. of space, a BBQ, live entertainment and more all underneath a huge circus tent. Where’s SFoA? Why, but 100 meters north of Cafe Diplomatico’s College and Clinton spot.
Real Sports Bar and Grill
Get here early because Real Sports will fill up in no time. The massive screen, tons of other televisions, great food, sexy servers, chic atmosphere, central location all make Real Sports one of the top spots to watch the Euro Cup in Toronto.
Embrujo Flamenco
Spanish tapas restaurant Embrujo Flamenco on the Danforth will have a large screen projecting the final Eurocup match of Spain vs. Italy as well as full service menu. This is a great spot for fans of Spain: authentic tapas to go alongside the hot match.

Allen’s on the Danforth
Come here for a steak and stay for the game. Allen’s on the Danforth has a great back patio too if you’re looking to unwind pre or post-game, and the beer selection, though not the city’s largest, has all the faves for game day.
17 Steps
If you’re in the West End of Toronto, watch the final Euro Cup game at 17 Steps on Bloor West. This Greek/Mediterranean resto boasts a lax atmosphere and amazing food…perfect for the less rowdy Euro Cup 2012 viewer.

All these are good places to watch the game. However. You might want to avoid The Football Factory. A few friends and I went to watch the game there last week thinking it would be an appropriate place to watch the match.
Service was very slow. Waitress was rude and drinking while working. She seemed more interested in socialicing with her boyfriend than actually doing her job.
When we complanained to the owner no less. He aplogized to me and then mumbled some thing extremely rude and racist under his breath to the bar tender.
I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Service is below standards. Management is poor and the staff is rude and greasy looking.
The kitchen staff and the dishwasher should not be at the front bar drinking while working in my opinion.
Hope this helps.
Garry.
Hi Garry – Thanks for the information. We’ve been there and had a great experience but good to know about others’ experiences…
Allen’s does not have a single TV screen. Either a ridiculous posting or the writer has been given a free meal from the place to advertise them. If you like pomposity go to Allen\s.
Hey Steve,
We called Allen’s on the Danforth and they indeed have four screens at the bar and will be playing the game with sound. They are one of the ‘alternative’ spots people can watch the game if they aren’t looking for the rowdiest crowd. Hope that helps.
