Quite bold to say as someone who is pretty much always on the go and is never ever without their laptop… I’ve quickly become sick of lugging around a heavy computer all day long as I bounce from working from home to meetings and coffee shops. That’s why I’m so excited to be partnering with LG Canada to test out their new LG gram, literally the world’s lightest 17-inch laptop!
I’ve been soaking in the last few warm days of the year with the LG gram by my side. The LG gram is perfect for anyone who is constantly on the move, especially those who work remotely, and particularly entrepreneurs. Because we can’t be bogged down by extra weight, thankfully the LG gram is super lightweight. Seriously—it weighs in at just 2.98 lbs, so you can literally pick-up and go at a moment’s notice. If you think that just because it’s lightweight that means it’s flimsy, think again because this baby has a full metal body that’s made of magnesium alloy which, fun fact, is commonly used for aircraft material so you know it’s the real deal and super tough (without the bulk)!
We all know that there’s nothing worse than running out of juice while in the middle of a productive workday, right? Well, the LG gram has a battery life of up to 17-hours of use, on a single charge, so if you’re hunkering down at a local coffee shop that has little to no power outlets (we all know that struggle), you’ll be just fine.
In addition to how lightweight it is and the amazing battery life, one of my favourite features about this laptop is that it has a full-size keyboard which, if you do a lot of writing in a day, is crucial. As someone who started their career in administration and data entry, while paying my way through school and working on my creative skills, I truly value the numbers keypad on the right. As the head of a growing small business, I am many times an editor, photographer, director, writer, accountant, IT, and much more, so anything that makes my life even the slightest bit easier is well appreciated. The full keyboard and keypad really do make things easier, especially when doing my deadline billings and accounting.
Another thing that struck me with the LG gram is the large screen with incredible precision, and clarity, so it’s great for reviewing images and also catching up on TV. If the stellar picture quality isn’t cool enough for you, the 17-inch large screen allows you to view more on your screen, so you can multitask and get even more work done. Best of all, the LG gram fits a 17-inch screen in a 15.6 inch body, making it even more compact and portable. Speaking of productivity, how annoying are typos? Thankfully, the LG gram has larger backspace, enter, and shift keys that reduce the frequency of typos so you can type with confidence and purpose.
The bottom line is that if you’re in the market for a new laptop and need it to be as lightweight as possible for easy travel and want as much screen real estate as possible, you’ll want to do yourself a favour, take it from me and check out the LG gram. You can thank me later.
