Snapshots of Change: The Influence of the CNE on Toronto

    About Snapshots of Change

The Canadian National Exhibition Association (CNEA) is taking visitors on a journey through time, and introspective look at the evolution of the Canadian National Exhibition. A beloved mainstay in Toronto’s cultural calendar. Snapshots of Change is the CNEA’s newest exhibition that explores the nostalgic, the familiar, and the quirky pasts of the CNE. Through limited objects, never-seen-before photography and archives dating back to 1879.

See how the CNE has grown from an agricultural fair to one of the world’s largest exhibitions. And reflect on the symbiotic relationship between the fair and its city. The exhibition is a narrative of how Toronto’s evolving identity and communities have helped shape the CNE. Categorized into the pillars of Entertainment & Fashion; Sport & Recreation; Agriculture & Technology; and Nostalgia & Influence. Likewise, the CNE’s affect runs deep in the heart of Torontonians. It is part of Toronto’s DNA as an enduring presence, economic contributor and social gathering place.
