We had a chance to check out one of the city’s newest quick stop options, H2 Kitchen. Located at Queen and University which is a really busy hub in the core of downtown and right on the subway line. It’s a beautiful, clean and open space that demonstrates their commitment to fresh ingredients and healthy eating. If a wall made of grass doesn’t scream clean eating I’m not sure what does.
Fast food is often a go-to option for lunch during a busy workday. It’s cheap, it’s fast and the restaurants are often in a close vicinity to offices and workspaces. Over the last few years, we have seen a resurgence of healthier eating, meal prepping and becoming more conscious about the food that we put into our bodies. Restaurants are now following suit by offering healthier options on their menus. I mean did you ever think you’d see the day McDonald’s would be serving salads?
Their menu offers a variety of smoothies, salad and grain bowls, poke, and noodle bowls. All their dishes are made fresh in-house and use the highest quality ingredients.
We had the opportunity to taste some of their more popular items on the menu. We can safely say that everything not only tasted delicious but made us feel really good about what we were eating.
A few of our favourites:
Very Berry Smoothie – Mango Pineapple, Raspberries, Strawberries, Blueberries, Mango Juice, Greek Yogurt and Mint
Dancing Bombay Salad and Grain Bowl – Tandoori Chicken, Brown Rice, Baby Spinach, Corn, Red Onion, Pineapple, Golden Beet, Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Mango Date Dressing and Sriracha Maple Dressing
Spicy Salmon Poke – Spicy Salmon, Jalapeno, Cucumber, Red Onion, Cherry Tomatoes, Corn, Edamame, Carrots, Red Beets, Radish, Crab Meat, Wakame Salad and Ponzu Sauce
H2 Kitchen is also available for order on Foodora and Ritual to make your lunchtime even easier. If you feel like you might become a regular, become and H2 Member for $5. You’ll receive discounts on all their food items and stay up to date on upcoming events and promotions.
H2 Kitchen also launched a new limited value dinner menu starting that features 10 main dishes and 12 side dishes to choose from. As a part of this dinner, H2 Kitchen offers a main dish, 3 side dishes, a salad and a dessert, giving every diner the option of tasting 5 cuisines in one go! Building on H2 Kitchen’s philosophy of featuring food from around the world, the menu features cuisines such Korean, Mexican, Japanese, British, etc. among others to give you one satisfying meal at the end of your long day.
