On one of the hottest days of the year, Adam, Adara and I left our very air conditioned office to venture over to Le Kensington Bistro et Rotisserie for a “light” lunch. As we strolled on over to Kensington Market and sweated up an appetite, we were very excited to check out the traditional French bistro located right in the heart of ever-trendy Kensington Market; in the spot once occupied by another French restaurant, La Palatte.
Once we arrived and settled ourselves on the perfect patio for people-watching, it was clear to us that Le Kensington Bistro really does provide a cozy bistro atmosphere to its guests. The menu, which uses local ingredients, caters to all who enjoy classic and authentic French cuisine. After many moments of humming and ahhing we finally narrowed it down to the Brie and Leek Tarte, Warm Goat Cheese Salade, the Slow Roasted Pulled Pork Sandwich and 1/2 Chicken Rotisserie – my mouth is watering just thinking about it again! It’s clear that Le Kensington Bistro takes a lot of pride in the dishes that they serve up, everything tasted fresh and homemade, even the plating was homestyle and adorable. I think we were all blown away with the 1/2 Chicken Rotisserie, and to quote Adam: ” Swiss Chalet ain’t got nothing on this!” Perfectly succulent white meat with a Béchamel dipping sauce that we sopped up every last drop of!
After massacring all four of the dishes, we were left sun soaked and full! Le Kensington Bistro is a must check out if you are ever in the neighborhood. Expect great prices for quality cuisine, cozy atmosphere and dishes that are worth putting the diet on pause for. Can’t wait to go back!
