If you haven’t popped into Market at the Shangri La Hotel as of late (and if that’s the case, we’re not sure what’s wrong with you), add it to your agenda… stat! An exciting new menu concept has recently caused quite the buzz for tastebuds everywhere with the launch of their new Southern inspired offerings. Under the tutelage of Atlanta-based chef David Gross, Market by Jean-Georges is offering a limited time menu inspired by Atlanta’s famed Cook Hall. The new menu highlights Gross’ passion for seasonal ingredients perfectly melded with Atlanta’s Southeastern culinary inspiration. Comfort food at its best!
This regional American fare menu offers a refined yet fun take on traditional American gastropub food with plenty of emphasis on shareable plates and a contemporary twist on the craft cocktail movement that has all but taken the city’s bars by storm.
Hunker down at the sleek and sexy bar/lounge space, or grab a group of friends and head over to the beautifully appointed restaurant and order up a pile of Deviled Eggs stuffed with Blue Crab for a starter. Fill your belly and nosh on Crispy Egg and Parmesan, Crispy Duck Tacos served with Chipotle Coleslaw, and add to that a side of Kale Caesar Salad to add a little more green to the mix. Guaranteed, you’ll leave feeling satisfied.
A special style of “bottle service” has been created that all but allows guests to play bartender at the table. The mixologists at Market have come up with their own version of the famous Cook Hall Cocktail Kit (a basket loaded with all the cocktail fixings you’ll need to get your party started). Order it upon arrival and a custom basket will arrive tableside in no time. Contained within, find instructions, fresh herbs, sparkling soda, shrub syrups, house made bitters, and sliced fruits to garnish to create your own personalized concoction (we recommend the Lavender Gin Fizz or Jalisco Flip).
This special a la carte menu is now available in the dining room and the bar area alongside Market’s reduced a la carte menu that features Jean-Georges’ signature items until the end of October.
Make your way to Market at 1115 Alberni Street (3rd floor).
