Vancouver’s VanDusen Botanical Garden is set to become an oasis of polished chrome as it welcomes back the 4th Annual Luxury Supercar Weekend on September 7th and 8th. Always one of the finest affairs not to be missed in YVR, we’re definitely looking forward to getting our Vibe on… it’s so much more than just classic automobiles…
Nestled amongst the sprawling greenery, attendees can expect to peruse hundreds of collectibles courtesy of Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, BMW, Jaguar, Corvette, Pagani, Bugatti, Porche, Rolls-Royce and more. If those high-priced names have your interest and appetite piqued, you’ll be able to satiate yourself after paying a visit to one of the many exclusive lounges on site.
Past years have featured plenty of picnic-style seating, craft cocktails, canapés and other nosh-worthy treats. Adding to the exclusive feel of this soiree are a number of VIP areas wherein guests could tuck themselves away from the summer sun at a variety of sponsored pop-up lounges.
Dress code is casual-chic, but you won’t get thrown out if you rock up in flops. That’s just what makes this event one of our favorites… it channels that relaxed West Coast vibe perfectly.
Upping the fancy factor throughout the weekend’s festivities are a variety of fashion shows (courtesy of MaxMara, Gianni Manaki and BluBird Boutique) which ticket holders can enjoy.
New this year, Luxury Supercar has more than doubled in size and will now feature even more designer vehicles as well as a series of yachts and even helicopters. Perfect for those looking to live their pipe dream for an afternoon…
The party doesn’t necessarily stay put in the gardens though (more like, it just gets started there). Throughout the weekend, there are a series of special dinners taking place at select restaurants around town. Starting on Wednesday, September 4th, get fired up for the weekend at Don Francesco’s Ferrari dinner, followed by Thursday’s 50th Anniversary celebration of the Porche 911 at Q4. Next, fill your appetite at The Supercar owners’ dinner hosted by Cin Cin. Post garden party on Saturday, make your way to Yaletown’s Blue Water Café + Raw Bar for The Luxury Supercar owners’ dinner. To round out the weekend, Sunday will see a 50th Anniversary of Lamborghini tribute dinner take place at Don Francesco.
Weekend festivities ultimately culminate in the annual Shaughnessy Concours d’Elegance, awarding trophies to the Best in Class. This will include nods to honour the 50th anniversary of both Lamborghini and Porsche 911 as well as the 60th anniversary of Corvette, and will see guests mingling with invited celebrity race car drivers, pro athletes and more.
