Even all the way up in the North pole of Toronto, there is a celebration underway that will require you to handle a stein and wear a lederhosen to attend. This year Oktoberfest in the Square at Shops at Don Mills will be going the traditional Bavarian route with live music, german delicacies while present a gigantic Oktoberfest keg to fight over!
Join the celebration at the Town Square of Don Mills Shopping Centre from Thursday October 11th to Sunday October 14th, as Bier Markt will takeover and provide guests with the sounds and tastes of Germany. There will be live performances by Euro Connection (If you’re looking to get your Oompah on!) Daylight for Deadeyes and The Lost Boys featuring Gord Deppe from The Spoons.
The menu will be a mouthwatering roasted Oktoberfest chicken, beer glazed with homemade potato dumplings and cabbage & ciderslaw – only $15. There will be a Wurst Sampler with Bavarian sausages, sauerkraut, Bavarian pretzel, $10. But for the light eater, there will be a $5 Bavarian pretzel and mustard bar for the noming, it’s always easier to dance with a pretzel in hand! Wash all that german grub down with a selection of beers; Weihenstephan, Thurn & Taxis, Erdinger & Amsterdam, all $7 for 18oz.
This unforgettable outdoor event will have you dancing all night (in this case, till 10pm) but reliving the traditional feel of the Bavarian spirit.
