PROMPERU Canada (The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism in Canada) is all set to showcase the stunning eau-de-vie PISCO, which is made from the finest grapes. This unique brandy also has the honour of being Peru’s national drink.
As part of the celebration and to get the Canadian market more familiarized with the wonders of PISCO, the Spirit of Peru, PROMPERU Canada is hosting a PISCO Week Cocktail Competition! The competition is aimed towards restaurants/bars, bartenders and mixologists in Toronto who know they have what it takes to make the Ultimate PISCO Cocktail.
The PISCO Week Canada Cocktail Competition is being held for 11 days each in both Toronto and Montreal. Local restaurant and bar patrons can expect evening promenades with unique and original cocktail recipes by some of the country’s most talented bartenders. The dates for the competition in Montreal are September 17th – September 27th, 2020 and September 24th – October 4th, 2020 in Toronto.
Why now, you might ask? “Although we considered postponing the initiative,” said a PROMPERU representative, “we felt that now more than ever before, the local bar and restaurant industry could use our support. It also provides an opportunity to lift the staff’s spirits, give them something to look forward to and feel challenged.”

The Bartender and establishment’s cocktail submissions have been posted to the @PISCOweekCA Instagram account. During this time, YOU may visit the following local establishments and vote for your favourite cocktail recipe by engaging directly with the respective cocktail on @PISCOweekCA’s Instagram post. Now more than ever before, they could REALLY use your help. Just remember, please be safe and ensure to follow all the local Health Canada COVID-19 guidelines and safety measures when visiting any local establishment.

The top three cocktails will go forward to the finals and judged by an expert panel. Each PISCO Week (one for Toronto and one for Montreal) winner will secure bragging rights as Toronto/Montreal’s first PISCO Week Champion! They can also look forward to a VIP Trip to Peru for an ultimate experience of PISCO, the Spirit of Peru, and a visit to Cusco and Lima, once regular travel is safe to resume.
