It’s not surprising that given we’re a diverse and multicultural city, there are several great Toronto restaurants open on Christmas Day. So whether you’re not of the Jesus-praising persuasion, or you’re too damned lazy to cook or travel, or you want to cram in a meal between festive visits, you can still eat well on December 25th.
7 West Cafe
No surprises here, one of Toronto’s few decent 24 hour restaurants, 7 West Cafe, is open on Christmas Day. Order up their famed late night food for a chillaxed celebration on the 25th.
The Lakeview Restaurant
Another 24-hour hotspot, the Lakeview Restaurant on Dundas is open on Christmas Day. This Toronto restaurant serves up some pretty damned good diner food, so whether you want to meet your mates for a late lunch or you need some sobering up after a family affair, fear not in popping by.

Pho Pasteur
One of my personal favourite pho spots in the city, Pho Pasteur is sticking to their 24/7 guns this Christmas. It’s no frills. It’s not fancy. It’s nothing special… which in essence is what makes it special. PS Order the Vietnamese spring roll.
Azure Restaurant and Bar
The Intercontinental Hotel’s main eatery, Azure is a Toronto restaurant that is indeed open on Christmas Day. Featuring special brunch and dinner menus – go all turkeylicious if you’d like – Azure is a safe bet for Noel.
Lai Wah Heen
Go gourmet with your dim sum fix on Christmas Day at Lai Wah Heen restaurant at the Metropolitan Hotel. Enjoy special set-course menus for both lunch and dinner on the 25th, and the week surrounding. A great Toronto restaurant to celebrate the season.
Hemispheres
The sister restaurant to Lai Wah Heen at the Metropolitan, Hemispheres is a great Toronto restaurant to rejoice on Christmas Day. Whether it be a festive brunch with the family or a gourmet dinner with your one and only, leave the cooking to the chefs and simply enjoy a relaxing meal.

Cafe Boulud
One of Nicki’s favourite new spots in the city – seriously, the chick was there three times in its first month – Cafe Boulud is open for regular service during breakfast and lunch, and is offering up a special three-course dinner (with a turkey option, of course) on Christmas Day.
Mandarin
Get a food coma going during the day at Mandarin in Toronto this Christmas. The epic – and I use the term lightly – buffet will fill you to the brim. Just don’t expect the most fancy yuletide experience…
Chinatown
Just in general, tons o’ spots open here on Christmas Day. Nuff said.
