You don’t have to ask PR maven Priya Chopra how she takes her coffee twice. The founder of 1milk2sugars PR, Chopra and her team work with a ton of cool lifestyle brands, including some of our favourite beauty lines like Smashbox, Lancome, Biotherm, L’Oreal Professionnel and Clarisonic, to name a few. Now with offices in both Montreal and Toronto, Chopra is one busy lady. Throw in two children under the age of 3, and you’ve got yourself a lady who truly juggles it all. We caught up with Chopra to find out all about her beauty must-haves and what she loves about Toronto.
Tell us a bit about yourself. What should people know?
I am the founder and one of the original Sugars of 1milk2sugars PR. We offer PR and Social Media for various lifestyle brands, with a heavier focus on the beauty industry. I started this company in Montreal, and we have just recently expanded our operations into Toronto, with the opening of our new office in the city just this very month. I am also a mom, I have a baby boy of just 9 months, as well as a 2.5-year-old little girl… I usually find a free moment for myself after 9pm! (I’m sure some parents out there can relate to this!)
On a personal level, something interesting about me is that I come from a very open-minded family, a very multicultural family that is really a shining example of the cultural mosaic of Canada. My parents are from the Far East, India, and I got the travel bug early in life. I have always been fascinated by distant places, foreign languages, you name it. I guess it should be no surprise that I found love by marrying a Haitian-French. Funnily enough, my brother married a Laotian. In our extended family, there are about 5 languages being spoken in our household on any given day… I think this is simply beautiful.

…it is a city that thinks big! Go big or go home are words I live by, so I definitely feel very at home here (even though my hometown is Montreal). There are so many amazing people in this city doing amazing things. I marvel at Toronto’s charm and charisma, and thriving potential to continually be the business center of this nation.
What are three things you can’t live without?
Plain and simple: my husband, my daughter, my son.
What’s your favourite restaurant and why?
For anyone that knows me, I am a lover of all things Italian, thus Buca definitely tops my list. I love the authenticity in their dishes; it brings me straight back to my Milan days.
What are your beauty must-haves?
I am a total beauty junkie, it is a bit of a job hazard! I should tell you my current must-haves as they are subject to change on a whim. For my skin, the absolutely fab Clarisonic; for my lips, my Buxom gloss in Cherry from Bare Escentuals; and for my hair, the brand new Matrix Biolage ExquisiteOil Monoi Softening Treatment.
What’s your favourite spa or service?
The one and only L’Oreal Professionnel Steampod Blowdry service. Tack this on to the standard blow dry you ask for in salons. It is worth the extra $10 to $15 – hair is protected and ultra glossy.
