Announced last week through Facebook, after over half a decade Tati Bistro on Harbord Street is closing, and the property has already been sold. With their last day of service coming this Mother’s Day, May 12th, there are still a few opportunities to dine at Tati before they shut their doors for good. Hopefully the weather will change for the better, and there may even be an opportunity to sip some Pinot Grigio on their beautiful rooftop patio. While speaking with The Grid, co-owners Wayne Parent and Whitney Brown cited growing saturation in the Toronto restaurant scene as one of the reasons for their departure. There’s a new restaurant coming in its place, though Parent and Brown wouldn’t say who’s moving in, only that it will be a very different kind of spot.
Elle M’a Dit owners Gregory Furstoss and Tory Yang are a month away from shutting the doors of their charming Baldwin Village restaurant, according to a Twitter announcement. After playing host to a fantastic few days of dining with the Dubon Chicken popup last week, the restaurateurs told Toronto Life that they’re not getting out of the game, just putting things on hold. Apparently a Mexican restaurant will be taking over the cozy, two-storey space. Their final dinner will be held on April 27th with an all-tasting menu.
