I moved to Toronto exactly five years ago– never thought I would still be here given my history of boredom with cities I’ve lived in. Yet somehow I am still here and still loving it. Part of the reason is because of Toronto staples that think outside the box and make living here so much more fun. The Drake Hotel is the leader at this. It has been my go-to patio, restaurant, bar and café for the last five years and I’m still addicted to it. Why? Because they offer guests amazingly fun concepts that keep everyone coming back for more. This summer it’s Drakeland, an amusement park theme with exciting programming, performances and hotel packages.
Drakeland is a must do this summer – maybe more than once! Opening night was such fun! A rollercoaster in the main hall, cotton candy machines in the Sky Yard, face painters, a tarot card reader and even a dunk tank at the entrance had Adam and I forgetting about our hangovers (courtesy the previous night’s ARD #StayFoolish). Adam and I ventured over there last Friday to check out the first day’s festivities — from fresh new menu items like pickles on a stick, pecorino and truffle fries and chocolate covered frozen bananas to a boozy lemonade stand in the Sky Yard, and all this amusement park fun. Drakeland will be offering fun activities and the boozy lemonade stand until September 30th, 2012. Check out the site for more information on upcoming events and menus.
