Kimberley Kirby is a new intern with View the Vibe, and she shares with us one of her favourite Bloor West Village spots for a drink…
When you live in an area with such a strong sense of community such as Bloor West Village, when something new opens up, it definitely creates a buzz among the villagers. This was no different when The Kennedy Public House opened its doors this past year, providing a cool new place for the locals as well as bringing in some fresh faces to the ‘hood.
When I first walked into the Kennedy Public House, immediately I knew this was going to be the new place to be seen in Bloor West Village, which made me regret my outfit choice. The atmosphere and design is aimed to have more of a modern feel with a classic twist that appeals to families, 9-5ers and those just looking to have drinks with friends.

We snatched a seat on the patio, and then discovered Somersby, a Danish Apple cider that came highly recommended to us by our server and is actually the perfect sipper on a really hot and humid summer day. We mulled the menu and went for the calamari – lightly breaded and served with a lime ancho aioli, marinated veggies, chic peas and a spiced hummus dollop – and the Momo Verde – a veggie and lactose-free pizza option. Everything had a really great modern edge to what could be considered ordinary, but The Kennedy Public House is definitely a perfect place to go and unwind, catch up with friends, and enjoy a relaxing dinner.
