Explore Toronto’s Views from Above with Hotel X
Hotel X is one of Toronto’s newest hotels after opening its doors in March 2018. Just over a year down the road, and the cutting edge facility is beginning to gain a name for itself in the competitive Toronto hotel scene. Designed to accommodate travellers attending conventions and meetings at Enercare Centre and Beanfield Centre, Hotel X is more than just a quick stop. We’re here to break down everything about the VIBE inside Hotel X, and what you can expect when you choose to stay at this Toronto Hotel.
The Location
Hotel X is located on the grounds of Exhibition Place, and their main entrance can be found at the corner of Newfoundland Rd. and Lakeshore Boulevard West. Near popular Toronto spots like Ontario Place, Budweiser Stage, Echo Beach, BMO Field, as well as a close hop to Centre Island, you’ll be set to explore life in the 6ix. With shuttle services to access the rest of Toronto’s buzzing city life, you’re not far from the Entertainment District, or the heart of Toronto at Union Station.
The Rooms
The amenities at Hotel X is what really stands them apart from the crowd. The rooms are spacious, and I had a beautiful corner one bedroom suite with king-sized bed and lovely view to enjoy.
Let me tell you something, the views from these rooms are spectacular. The corner unit I was in offers gorgeous Toronto skyline views as well as a lake view overlooking the marina. I couldn’t believe the beautiful view I had with a one-bedroom suite. Hotel X makes it worth it just to come and see these views and experience some of their top-notch amenities.
The Bathroom
You’ve probably realized by now that the amenities are truly what makes this hotel stand out. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable with a good size shower. I’m very mindful of pressure and temperature because I like to take cold showers and enjoy good water pressure otherwise I just don’t feel 100%. And this stand-up shower delivered with a separate spacious bathtub if you’re into that. It was a really great space to unwind and chill after a busy day.
Whether you’re doing a hardcore workout at 10x, working on business proposals, or touring around the city, it’ll definitely make you feel chilled and relaxed.
The Amenities
Time for my favourite category. While all the room and bathroom amenities were great, I definitely want to speak to their gym. Hotel X is really unique in the sense that its 10XTO gym is actually an entirely separate building.
It has absolutely state of the art workout technology and literally every workout you could imagine. From tennis courts and squash courts to sunrise yoga and workout classes, you’ll have something to do here for sure.
The other really impressive amenity is their rooftop pool. The Hotel X rooftop pool is an absolutely beautiful space to check out. And it’s only available to hotel guests so you have to be staying here to take advantage of it. It’s also equipped with disability access to get in and out of the pool for anyone who requires wheelchair accessibility or has trouble getting in and out of the pool. I thought that was a well thought out detail.
I was there over the Canada Day long weekend and there were a lot of staycationers, travellers, and couples. This meant that the pool would fill up super early though so I was lucky enough to get a seat. It means that even as a hotel guest, though, you’re not guaranteed a lounge chair by the pool. A lot of people struggled for space, and I thought there was definitely a way to make the space a little better. I found it small for the amount of property they have and how extravagant everything else in the hotel is. Felt like they missed the mark with this space. Be prepared to feel a little cramped on a busy weekend.
The other one-off issue that took away from the pool ambiance was that they couldn’t get the music going all day after several requests from myself and other guests. I spent the entire day lounging by the pool sans-music, which definitely tends to kill the vibe.
The Eats
They have a really cool rooftop bar and patio with two levels. The public has access to this too so you don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy their patio. It has some really insane views so, again, I would recommend checking it out for the views alone. They still have some work to do regarding the service and management. Being a newer hotel, I feel like they’re still figuring a lot of things out especially this being their first full summer season.
It definitely gets hectic and busy in there though. The hotel is still so new it seems as if the wait staff are still getting used to the hustle and bustle of big city catering. The food itself was good, definitely an improvement from when they first opened in 2018. It’s strange to me, that the menu upstairs is so limited and they encourage you to go down to the second floor restaurant to get a full menu when they should just be offering it upstairs. I do think it needs some time to mature into the big-city hotel accommodation that it’s fast becoming. This hotel really has the capability to be something special if they can get a handle on their service.
The Standout Feature
There is no beating the views at Hotel X and this is for sure the biggest standout. Their buildings and property are also really beautiful and, of course, the amenities get another shoutout.
It seems like they’ve thoroughly thought about all their cool and interesting features, and this definitely makes them a standout in the Toronto hotel scene.
The pool and rooftop bar (if it’s not too busy) are definitely places you should see for the views alone. The 10XTO athletic club is also a stellar workout venue, and I would for sure recommend you check it out which is only available to their members as well as hotel guests.
The VIBE
I got to check out Hotel X Toronto at the height of its busiest and most social times during Canada Day long weekend. It was a lot of couples and staycationers from Toronto which I thought was interesting. It truly is a place to go for locals that want to feel like they’re vacationing in their own city.
Given that it was the long weekend, I found a couple of families and kids too, but definitely not an overwhelmingly family VIBE. It will for sure maintain its family friendliness, but it does have a younger clientele with a few birthday and wedding celebrations.
All their cool and interesting features tend to draw in a young-adult crowd. It’s a fun place to stay and gives you the some incredible vibes so there’s definitely a romantic vibe too hosts to a an increasing amount of weddings.

The Overall VIBE
Although the views, amenities and property are stellar, I do think it needs some time to mature from a food and service standpoint into the big-city hotel accommodation that it’s fast becoming. This hotel really has the capability to be something special if they can get a handle on their service.
