It’s that time of year again! No, not Labour day. It’s TIFF time. And you know what that means: celebrity sightings galore. Usually our beautiful Toronto metropolis is an awkward teenager just trying to fit in, but the city’s practically blushing with anticipation as our annual close up nears. With all these exclusive parties, post-premiere events, and of course, attractive attendees, Toronto will undoubtedly be catapulted to cool kid status – at least for ten days.

Here’s Vv Magazine’s guide to all the TIFF parties you need to know about this year – some open to the public, some with ticket prices larger than your rent and some exclusive VIP parties.

TIFF Soiree
Sept. 9, 2015
Kicking off the annual Toronto Film Festival in style is the TIFF Soirée celebration: Academy Award–winning actor Natalie Portman will give an intimate onstage conversation about her life and career. In addition to this special onstage conversation, guests can enjoy a spectacular party with cocktails, appetizers, and live musical entertainment.

AMBI Gala Supporting Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation
Sept. 9, 2015
It’s the hottest (and priciest) ticket in town being thrown by chairs of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Heidi Klum and James Franco. Prince Albert and Princess Charlene will be present as well as some of Hollywood’s biggest names. Hosted by Martin Short with a special performance by Diana Ross, the night promises to be one of the best parties of the year.

Breitling, Birks and Shangri-La Celebrate TIFF

It’s a kick off event like no other and this year they celebrate 10 years. Held at the Spoke Club, this is Canadian film and media getting together to celebrate Canada’s success in the film industry. It’s TIFF’s most fashionable annual event where Toronto Life releases their Stylebook and honours our city’s most stylish people. Attended by the city’s most fashionable and VIP people, it’s an event nobody wants to miss.

Mongrel House Opening Night Party

Mongrel Media has a slew of TIFF films and they want to celebrate! Hosting a VIP event on TIFF opening day, the Canadian distribution company is turning heads with their special Mongrel House being activated through the film festival. The house is guaranteed to be packed with VIPs as they celebrate some of TIFF’s biggest films.

LA Times Headquarters at The Addisons Residence
Sept. 10-15, 2015
In true Beverly Hills private residence style, the Addisons Residence will be hosting celebrities throughout the week as the LA Times set up shop at Wellington St.’s latest hot spot. Set up as a daytime lounge ideal spot for interviews with the actors, the LA Times will no doubt feel very at home. The Addisons will be open some evenings for visitors to catch up on the excitement of the festival, and will be closed for some private parties. Check their social media for more details.

Back by popular demand, brave party-goers can get inked with FREE not-so-temporary tattoos by Speakeasy Tattoo in Room 222, while Pinky’s Nails will provide custom nail art and mini-manicures for patrons wanting pampering. From body art to art installations, Krystle Tabujara debuts the Sound of Cinema, a décor installation inspired by music in film.

TIFF At Drake One-Fifty*
Sept. 10, 2015
This party brings the flagship’s Parkdale vibe to TIFF-goers downtown. The party moves inside for the 2nd Annual Grolsch Open House After-Party at Drake One Fifty from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Oldies 990 bring their big band sound to the party, followed by headliners Brendan Canning & Friends, a collaboration between the Broken Social Scene alum and fellow stars of the Canadian music scene.

Nikki Beach Toronto

The Producers Ball

The annual Producers Ball, which typically sees a wide-range of Canadian talent and industry folk, will once again be hosted by those good-looking bros (a.k.a. the Property Brothers) on the eve of TIFF 2014.
