Fact: Toronto’s social media scene is hotter than ever – every year, more leading brands, agencies and social media platforms are opening up key offices here in the 6ix to get a foothold on our ever-expanding market.

Get Your Tickets NOW, before it’s too late!

2019 was a landmark year for Toronto – the Raptors’ run to championship had the entire world’s eyes on us. Influencer marketing continued to flourish and TikTok came on the scene in a big way, and just announced their Canadian expansion.

Find out who in Toronto is heating up Toronto’s social media scene at Social Media Week Toronto this week of November 12th, 2019.

Throughout the week, attendees have access to world-class programming with a wide variety of sessions and personalities. From massive brands and companies, to celebrity influencers, #SMWTO is the go-to place to learn from some of the best, spot upcoming trends, and dive deep into every topic imaginable that touches both our online and offline lives.

Here are View the Vibe’s top 10 reasons to grab tickets to #SMWTO, featuring 10 players in the space that are grabbing the attention of millions:

1. Donté Colley

This Inspirational Dancer and Content Creator went viral at the beginning of the year and hasn’t slowed down since! He has appeared in Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét’s Monopoly music video, created content for Will Smith’s bucket list, and performed with The Chainsmokers – but we love him for his Instagram posts that lift our spirits and put a smile on our faces!

2. Matt Tierney

Managing Editor of Team Content for MLSE Raptors, Matt was the voice of the Toronto Raptors this past year! He goes on the road with the team and pretty much immerses himself in all things Raptors and NBA so he can give the rest of us fans a window into their world. Catch his fireside chat at Social Media Week this year as he gives us a behind the scenes look at his crazy and amazing work life.

3. Nav Bhatia

Better known as Raptors Superfan, who waited patiently (for 24 YEARS!) for the team’s momentous win and who has never missed a home game. Nav has since become a Social Media influencer in his own right, challenging norms and stereotypes, and working with top brands like Tim Hortons. He was recently nominated for a People’s Choice Award! Nav will hit the stage on Day 2 of Social Media Week.

4. Alysha Newman

Representing Team Canada, this Canadian Olympic pole vault record holder has won medals at both the Commonwealth and Pan Am Games and is eyeing a podium performance at the 2020 Olympic Summer Games. She’s also charming AF and has racked up hundreds of thousands of adoring fans on Instagram.

5. Scott McGillivray

HGTV star and one of Canadian TV’s most lovable personalities, Scott is the definition of an entrepreneurial success story; an astute real estate investor, skilled contractor, and accomplished businessman – he’s also made the rare and successful pivot from TV guy to Online Influencer with a successful web series and growing social following.

6. Deepa Prashad

Deepa got her start super early as a WE Day spokesperson. She’s since gone on to become a BlogTO and Family Channel TV host, becoming one of Toronto’s most recognizable faces in social media. The 23-year-old who has been hosting for five years already, has countless movie star interviews under her belt.

7. Ramona Pringle

Fun fact: This Professor and Journalist was named after punk band The Ramones. No wonder she’s such a social media ROCKSTAR. Associate Professor in the RTA School of Media at Ryerson University, and Director of The Innovation Studio, she works at the intersection of creativity, technology, and humanity, and is one of CBC’s top go-to experts to weigh in on all things social media. Day 3 of Social Media Week takes place at Ramona’s new Creative Innovation Studio HQ.

8. Michelle Pinchev

Michelle keeps a lower profile on her socials, but behind the scenes as Executive Producer of Social Media Week Toronto, she’s a major player on Toronto’s social media landscape. Michelle brought Social Media Week back to Toronto in 2016 and has been passionately running the conference ever since. Through her agency Pinch Social, she works with some of the city’s hottest up-and-coming brands like the Thompson Hotel, Hoame Mediation, Cottage Springs Vodka, Altilis Beauty, and countless others. As a consultant and trainer, she also works with top global brands to help them take their social media game to the next level.

We look forward to seeing you there! Get your tickets NOW, before it’s too late.
