The break in this treacherous weather came at the perfect time for you to get outside and cure those winter blues. Take a voyage through the remarkable art of emitted light, colours and shadows.
The Toronto Light Festival is back from Jan. 19th until March 4th and features over 30 stunning art installations spread out through The Distillery District. Created by local and international artists including US, Europe & Asia, you’ll find beautiful interactive displays, various light projections and one-of-a-kind sculptures. And the best part? It’s completely free and open to the public from sunset until 9pm Sunday – Wednesday and until 10pm Thursday – Saturday.
Let’s face it, by January we’re all sick of winter which is exactly why the annual event aims to shine some light on Torontonians and visitors alike. The Toronto Light Festival is one of the largest open-air lighting galleries in North America! “Art becomes light art when light forms the primary means or medium of expression.” is how the Festival defines light art and we think it’s just so inspiring.
The event is something we encourage all you folks to check out and we couldn’t think of a better place for such an innovative and imaginative spectacle. For more information and event details, visit the Toronto Light Festival Website.
Admission is FREE.
