CBC’s mega-popular reality competition, Dragon’s Den, is headed for a revamping this fall as cast members Kevin O’Leary and Bruce Croxon depart (read: don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Kevin). The show, which features Canadian entrepreneurs and inventors vying for the funds of some the nation’s most established businesspeople, is replacing the two “Dragons” with known financier Michael Wekerle and Vancouver’s own restaurant tycoon Vikram Vij. The duo will begin filming with the other Dragons for their ninth season on March 24th and will debut on screens in the fall.
2014 is shaping up to be a bustling year for the seasoned Indian master chef, as Vij’s newest restaurant, My Shanti, is also set to open this month. Vikram Vij has become something of a household name recently with appearances as a judge on Chopped Canada, Top Chef Canada, and Recipe to Riches. No stranger to press, Chef Vij’s restaurants Vij’s and Rangoli have garnered high praise all over North America and have appeared in publications such as The Globe and Mail, and New York Times, also having been featured in Food Network, Omni Television and, of course, View the Vibe over the years.
Welcome to the Den new Dragons!
