We’re betting your Sunday plans are pretty much centred on all-things Super Bowl-related… and for good reason, of course. Our favourite Seattle-based team, the Seahawks, are in it to win it a la round two. If you’re not planning a tailgate party of your own, go for the next best thing and land yourself a spot to watch the game in style (complete with drink specials, big screens, artery-clogging grub, and surrounded by all your sports-minded besties). Come Sunday Funday, catch Super Bowl XLIX in Vancouver at one of these top notch sports bars around town and feel almost like you’re at the centre of all the NFL action. Guaranteed you won’t be disappointed.
CRAFT Beer Market
CRAFT Beer Market is a sure bet if you’re looking for a casual spot that we just know will be packed with fans come Super Bowl Sunday. Located in False Creek, ditch the car and head over via the Seawall so you can indulge in a few extra pints. They’ve got one of the city’s largest collections of draft offerings (140+) and are running a slew of specials for the big day.

Tap & Barrel
Tag & Barrel is a great option for football fans hoping to catch the game and a bit of ambiance on Super Bowl Sunday. With a handful of locations around the city, choose from the likes of Coal Harbour and False Creek/Olympic Village (look for The Shipyards to open later this year). Go and you’ll score a chance to win some serious swag thanks to Phillips Brewing Company.
Steel Toad Brewery
STB is definitely worthy of our list of best bars to head to for Super Bowl XLIX. Despite the fact that they’ve got plenty of great brew on tap, they’ve also got one of the city’s largest screens a.k.a. it’s practically guaranteed that you’ll have the best seat in the house no matter where you’re sitting.
Earls Restaurants
Earls is always a favourite when we’re on the hunt for an upscale-casual meeting place to catch the game while noshing on quality eats and tasty brew. For the sake of the Super Bowl, we recommend you head to either their Yaletown or Test Kitchen locations simply because the large viewing area and sheer number of screens guarantee a great game-watching vantage point (not to mention ample ability to signal the bartender that you need a top-up pint).

Local Kitsilano
Local Kitsilano is the perfect spot to park it for the afternoon of the Super Bowl. We love the beachside location and killer atmosphere – not to mention perhaps the best Caesars in town. Score a booth for a central snapshot or score a seat at their sheltered and heated outdoor bar while you watch the action unfold (and pretend summer’s almost here).
Red Card Sports Bar
Red Card is always a sure bet for sports fans and guaranteed to be packed come this weekend’s big game. Located in central downtown YVR, this pub is a consistent go-to given the seemingly endless number of big screens stuffed into every nook and cranny (all 18 of them). Nosh on Italian-inspired pub food and enjoy great beer specials. Bonus: you might even score a prize – they’ve lined up plenty for Super Bowl XLIX.
