It’s set to be another sunny weekend in Vancouver, and we’re feeling the need to spend as much time outside as possible. Luckily, there are plenty of reasons to do just that with a nice handful of options that’ll keep you busy Friday through Sunday…
5th Annual Italian Day 2014
These guys are back and ready to take over Commercial Drive this weekend. Head over and get ready to party as the neighbourhood is completely transformed in the spirit of all-things Italia. Italy Day is one of the city’s most celebrated (and well attended) cultural festivals, and a showcase of classic style, masterful design, and superior quality that represents ‘Made in Italy’. Sample Italian goods, check out lifestyle products and fashion, catch live entertainment, and absorb all things that make Italy so unique. Get ready to battle the crowd though – last year’s celebrations saw more than 300,000 attendees hit up the The Drive.
In The House Festival
Don’t miss the return of the In The House Festival, taking place this weekend. It’s a weekend of special performances you won’t want to miss and includes music, dance, magic, comedy, burlesque, and even a circus! Perhaps the coolest thing about this festival is it takes place in the intimacy of people’s homes around town! Thirteen houses open up their doors and backyards to the 20 spectacular shows. Doors Open Richmond
Doors Open Richmond is on this weekend and celebrating it’s 7th anniversary. This two-day festival gives visitors from all over the chance to explore a diverse mix of arts, culture, and heritage with more than 50 sites in Richmond open for free to the public. Learn about history and art with access to artists, museums, aboriginal groups, religious institutions, parks, and other public and private arts, cultural, and heritage sites. Take in interpretative and intercultural performances, storytelling, demonstrations, and tours at this one-of-a-kind event.
Vancouver Craft Beer Week
VCBW wraps up this weekend with an all-day beer fest at CRAFT Market on Saturday (2pm to 7pm). Grab your bike and head over via the Seawall to the Olympic Village location for a full afternoon of sipping more than 70 different craft brews the industry has to offer. Tickets to the signature send-off event include a VCBW taster glass, a handful of tokens, and live entertainment to get the party going (and keep it going all day long).
