We threw a party this week and it was FUN. Sometimes you just have to do it – throw a party, let loose, eat great food, drink good wine and dance with fabulous friends. Truth be told I kinda do this more often than not… but whatever, don’t judge me. I was born this way! And hey, that’s ultimately why I created View the Vibe – so I can actually do it for a living. Ha! Though as dreamy as this may sound, View the Vibe is a labour of love and the last 2 1/2 years have not been a party all the time…
So this past Tuesday we hosted a summer bash themed “Roman Holiday” at the amazing Italian trattoria, Lo Zingaro. This party was not about getting media coverage, it wasn’t about selling our client’s food, it wasn’t even about promoting ourselves – it was just a summer bash to catch up socially with the many hard-working PR peeps, bloggers, writers, and media that we see at events on the regular and never have time to just hang out and shoot the sh*t with. Mission accomplished. A party that was supposed to be from 6-9pm went until midnight… the food was amazing, the drinks were flowing and there was dancing – yes dancing (thanks to the energy of our Associate Editor, Vicki)! Everyone was smiling, enjoying the delicious food and having loads of fun and this makes me very happy.
I did stand back at one point and experience one of those “proud moments.” Proud of myself for never giving up on View the Vibe, a concept that was so new, I almost quit way more times than I care to share. I was proud of my amazing team for putting this party together but also for continuing to work hard to make the View the Vibe brand a success (special thanks to the amazing Adam Mazerall). And I was proud to work with our superstar client Lo Zingaro who hosted us so professionally and kept guests’ glasses full and their bellies satiated. Last, I was flattered that everyone came out on one of the hottest nights we’ve experienced – and stayed all night! Yes, this was a very special night but best of all? It was SO much FUN!
I know you may be reading this thinking “cheeeesyyyy”… but I think every so often we’re all allowed to get cheesy and be grateful to all the people that help us reach our goals, so I am choosing to do it now.
Back to fun, check out the awesome pics that Ryan Emberley took for us. And PS – I think we might be doing this more regularly, ’cause who doesn’t love to have fun?!
