The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced the nominees for the Canadian Screen Awards today, which will take place in early March. This year is an extra special one as, “2014 marks 65 years of celebrating leading talent in Canada: first film, then television and now digital media…” says Academy CEO Helga Stephenson.
The Canadian Screen Awards have more than just their 65th year to celebrate; “this was a year marked by a record-breaking number of submissions, reflecting a robust level of activity in the screen-based industries in Canada which we will celebrate during Canadian Screen Week. Congratulations to all,” explains Chair Martin Katz. The Ritz Carleton Toronto has also been announced as the official hotel of the Academy, sure to glamourously help the stars celebrate their place in the industry.
