New year, new trends! Vv Magazine’s fashion editor Philip Mak rounds up the 2015 trends that we love, hate, and just feel “meh” about for the coming 12 months…

To be perfectly honest, I am sad to see 2014 go. While it is ill-advised to be sentimental when working in fashion, the past year saw the rise of a number of trends that I felt really moved the industry forward. From androgyny to less conventional materials like neoprene, to seasonless collections and even the dreaded normcore, 2014 felt like the possibilities were limitless.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. That said, I still have high hopes for 2015 trends – especially given that Canadian designers put on an amazing show at this past fall’s World MasterCard Fashion Week, showcasing a refreshing array of wares for spring/summer 2015.

Overall, 2015 trends are looking a little more conservative than the year before, but that’s okay. Fashion is cyclical, and I take comfort knowing that weird, technical designs will come into vogue again soon.

In the meantime, here are 15 2015 trends to look forward to.
