Do you have an iron deficiency? This is something that is potentially caused by not eating enough meat and the reason why many vegetarians and vegans have resorted to eating small amounts of meat or iron booster tablets.

But if you’re looking to boost your iron levels what are the foods that have high iron and what kind of meals can you cook up with them?

Here are some foods that contain high iron and how you can cook up a storm with them.

1.Whole Wheat Bread

This type of bread is truly delicious and good for you. More importantly, it is full of iron. If you don’t usually eat whole wheat bread then prepare yourself a nice breakfast.

Put the whole wheat bread in the toaster and serve it with a collection of different condiments including different flavors of jam and marmalade. You even consider serving the bread with runny eggs to dip it into.

Breakfast in bed has never sounded so tasty.

2. Stack ‘Em High! Maple Syrup

Who knew eating maple syrup could be good for you? But this is one of a number of foods that contain high iron. Don’t eat it on its own.

Look up some recipes and serve yourself or your family homemade pancakes in the morning. Stack them high and fry a little bit of bacon to go with them. But best of all, when they are fresh out of the pan, drizzle them in maple syrup.

Don’t put too much on as the high sugar content could outweigh the benefits of the extra iron content. And be sure to vary your breakfast every morning and to only have maple syrup as an occasional treat.

3. Beef it Up

Another food that is high in iron is beef. And what could be a better way to enjoy this delicious meat than on by cooking a good old British Sunday roast, with all the trimmings and some horseradish?

To do this you’re going to need a big cooker, maybe even multiple ovens, and that’s going to use up a lot of energy. If you’re worried about what that might do the environment then now might be the best time to go solar.

Indeed some studies have shown that cooking a Sunday roast can cause pollution worse than Dehli.

Be sure to invite your friends and family around and make a bit of a party out of the occasion. Order in some good wine and dress the table appropriately. If you can’t get the silverware out for a Sunday dinner then when can you get it out?

Foods That Have High Iron Make For a Delicious Feast

There are many foods that have high iron but the best way to enjoy them if you have iron deficiencies is part of a big meal with your family or friends.

Try cooking pancakes for breakfast with a drizzle of maple syrup, great food that is high in iron. You could even plan a big British style Sunday dinner with roast beef and all the trimmings when you next have time.
