1: Add deposit due dates in your personal calendar
You do NOT want to forget these dates, as you could receive a late fee for any past due payments.
2: Add all the final and tentative closing dates to your personal calendar
There will be more than one date given to you as your ‘closing’ day. Instead of having to come back to the 100 page builder contracts put them in now. It will make everything smoother and stress free.
3: Start to save for your upgrades now
Prepare to be sticker shocked but ALSO remember not all upgrades are valuable. Some are better left to be done after you get your home. Let us know if you want a list!
4: Think about furniture
Furnishing an entire home can be overwhelming. Look for deals from now (boxing day) so you aren’t hit with a lump sum later. Ask to store it at the store or a family/friends home. Starting early also gives you time to shop around for styles and prices.
5: Keep in touch with your mortgage broker
It’s always good to know what current rates are and if any qualifying criteria have changed. We work with a short list of reliable brokers that will keep in touch with you. Reach out to get their contacts.
6: Get excited!!!
This is by far the most important one. We know that home buying can be stressful especially with the drawn out wait time of a pre-construction but TRUST US you want to cherish these moments because they won’t come back!
