If you were saddened by the news of Le Sélect Bistro closing last year, then you’ll be glad to hear that the French restaurant in Toronto is officially reopening! It had been a prime spot for many Torontonians to both enjoy some authentic French cuisine and good vibes. So who do we have to thank for bringing this spot back? It’s none other than famous restaurateur David Aisenstat.

A lot of dining establishments have had to readjust during the pandemic and Le Sélect was one of them. The restaurant’s location was sold to new owners due to the COVID impact after nearly 40 years.
“In short: Le Sélect had been through an earthquake and a tornado, and then Godzilla stomped down Wellington Street. Such was Covid-19.As the bills piled up and the centimes started to run short, we asked ourselves: are we ready to enlist for another fight from the trenches? Perhaps it was time to make a deal,” Le Sélect stated on one of their last Instagram posts in 2021.

Thankfully, things seem to have turned around with Aisenstat hoping to bring back the restaurant to its former glory days. Not much is expected to change with the interiors, as there will continue to be the art deco and vintage ambience.
As for the menu, you’ll be able to enjoy some of the previous classics, along with new dishes. And there’s even going to be more than 1,200 bottles of wine options. Le Sélect Bistro will be reopening this month at 432 Wellington Street West.
