It’s not just the food scene in the city that gets people talking, but the entertainment selection too. And this year, something exciting is headed this way for the first time ever. The Red Bull Flugtag is coming to The 6ix where there’s going to be MCs, F&B options and….flying machines.
Red Bull Flugtag
So where exactly do machines come into a Red Bull contest? The competition invites participants to design the most unique and creative structures. A member from each of the teams will then show the machine in action by actually flying in it. The machines are all launched from a nine-metre flight deck.
A panel of judges will judge each machine based on the creativity of the design, the performance, and the flight distance.
You can see it all live at Ontario Place on September 24. According to the rules and guidelines, each team for the Red Bull Flugtag is meant to have four or five people. One will be the pilot and the remaining are Ground Crew members. It is also recommended to primarily choose construction materials that are lighter than water as the machines are set to land on water.
Although this is the event’s first time to Toronto, it’s not a stranger to Canada. The 2006 edition was held in Vancouver, while the 2008 and 2013 editions were held in Ottawa.
The list of judges who will be monitoring the competition has yet to be announced. To stay up to date on the all details, check out the brand’s socials.
