Madras Kaapi Coffee House
Traditionally known in the region as filter coffee (kaapi), the ground beans are mixed with chicory to give the drink a stronger flavour profile. The roast also gives out a nutty feel, which is what makes it stand out from other types of coffee. Sugar and milk is then added to bring out the layer of sweetness that complements the roast.
Having started out in 2016 as an online business has lead founders Shilpa Kotamarthi and Aditya Srivathsan to open the first physical location. In addition to the beverage, customers can also find a variety of small snacks on the menu. The brand will also continue to sell its other products; Heirloom Kaapi Kit, beans, chicory blend and more.
The South Indian coffee shop is located at 870 College Street. The launch is today and you can find them operational from 10am – 6pm.
