Toronto chef and TikTok star Wallace Wong – who graced our View the VIBE cover issue last May – has just broken a world record for his extremely rare talent. Also known as “The Six-Pack Chef” for his love of fitness and food, Wong has chopped his way to social media fame with his captivating videos. The Michelin-trained chef, who is behind Egg Bae, has appeared on a handful of food competition TV shows and is known for his ability to chop ingredients into extremely thin slices.
Wong recently shared on social media that he was keeping a secret. He is currently the world record holder for the most slices of cucumber sliced in 30 seconds while blindfolded. He earned that title while appearing on the Italian show Lo Show Dei Record on February 6, where he chopped 166 slices of cucumber in 30 seconds while wearing a blindfold. The shredded and tattooed chef had to cut a minimum of 100 slices to qualify.
Not only did Wong easily break the record, but he also did so with a snapped finger tendon and while wearing a splint. Wong shared on social media that he had to relearn how to chop again after his late December injury. In fact, he had to relearn how to cut fruits and veggies of all shapes, sizes, and textures.
Despite this setback, Wong managed to easily break the world record, putting the viral sensation further on the global stage for his epic chopping skills. Take a look at the new world record holder in action…
You can catch more of the satisfying (and slightly anxiety-inducing) videos on Wong’s ever-growing social media accounts.
