So orange may be the new black, but white in warm weather is forever. Over the past few months I’ve begun to embrace the beauty in brighter shades. As a self-professed dark lip lover (shout-out to Cyber by MAC) I’ve finally stepped away from the dark side. Maybe it’s my slight obsession with Say Yes to the Dress that has finally propelled me to embrace white as a shade worth working with.
Buying budget beauty products allows me to play around with my look without being saddled with a big bill or a tub full of expensive product that I won’t use – which I can guarantee has happened to everyone at least once.
That being said, during one of my routine retail therapy sessions, I stumbled upon an offer I couldn’t refuse: a promotional duo featuring Maybelline’s Big Eyes The Falsies mascara and eyeliner set. I’ll save my thoughts on the mascara for another time, because the eyeliner stole the budget-friendly show. With black liner on one side and white on the other, this product delivers the best of both worlds.

If the idea of white liner still makes you nervous, here are some quick ways to work it in to your summer makeup look…
Line Those Lids
Sweep it across the top of the lash line (as you would with black liner) to add a hint of brightness to the eye.

Highlight
Add a bit to the inner corner of the eye to act as a highlighter. This subtle addition will make your eyes appear bigger and brighter.
Tuxedo Effect
Line your upper lash line with black and your lower lash line with white to create an interesting and playful contrast.
Definitive Drama
Put white liner on the lower water line (the pink part), then add in black liner directly below for a bold and dramatic look. Or add white liner just underneath your black winged-liner to amp up the oomph of your classic winged liner.
