All I want for Christmas… is a killer holiday party. For friends, family, and colleagues alike, tis the season to don gay (in the classical sense, naturally) apparel and mix and mingle to jingling beats. We’ve already hit December, so for those of you who are on the Naughty List and have yet to book your yuletide hangouts, bashes, soirees, cocktails, et cetera, et cetera… well… you need to get on that shiz. Luckily, we’ve found a few restaurants still taking bookings for groups small and large. Get your phones ready… they’ll fill up in no time…
The little diner that could, Cardinal Rule on Roncesvalles is booking holiday parties for upwards of 55 people. They can also create a communal-style table that’ll seat about 16. Best yet, they’re prepped and ready to make specialty drinks and menus… all you have to do is give ’em some notice.
With a private dining room perfect for up to 30 guests, Table 17 in Leslieville is an ever-so apropos restaurant for Christmas parties in Toronto. They also do a number of set menus, so you can prix fixe it up and enjoy a gorgeous three-course meal.
One of Nicki’s favourite new restaurants, Patria, boasts an upstairs mezzanine-style “private area” where you can relax and enjoy the Spanish stylings leaving the kitchen with your crew of 12 to 16.
The Combine Eatery
We go to The Combine Eatery almost weekly, thanks to two of the sweetest restaurant owners in the city and Chef Mario’s exceptionally comforting, protein-heavy blue plate specials. They’ve still got a couple dates left for holiday shindigs, and are always ready and willing to work out special menus.
Mildred’s Temple Kitchen
Liberty Village hotspot Mildred’s Temple Kitchen can accommodate up to 120 guests for a sit-down meal or 250 guests for a large cocktail reception. They’ve also a beautiful Kitchen Table, which seats groups of 24.
One of our favourite hidden gems, Habits Gastropub’s space can fit a fete for up to 100 peeps. The food is spectacular for a gastropub… so both the bumbling boys and society senoritas can find something to love.
This bar that’s as good for eats as it is for beats goes all out with its holiday decor, making it an exceptional backdrop for your holiday party in Toronto. Book it ASAP though, the kitsch of Kitch makes it a popular joint for jubilation.
Pan on the Danforth
Bookings for 20 to 60 people is a slice at Pan on the Danforth. With an intriguing atmosphere, including some sexy belly dancers, and Greek food galore, this is one spot you don’t want to overlook when reserving your special space.
With two locations – one on Blue Jays Way and the other on Wellington Street – Pizza Rustica can help with group parties from 20 through 40 guests. They’ve even a set menu for three-course glory. Chuck E. Cheese ain’t got nothin’ on this piece o’ pie.
LA’s Italian + Bar
Italian done right and with a high-society flare, LA’s Italian + Bar accommodates up to 42 people for a seated dinner and 50 for a cocktail reception. Best of all it’s centrally located and right around the corner from a subway. They also do special event menus perfect for any occasion.
EPIC at the Royal York couldn’t be more classy a restaurant in Toronto for seasonal soirees. They can accommodate quite a few bodies in both the dining room and main lounge, so you needn’t worry about bringing too many revellers.
The Ritz-Carlton signature restaurant recently underwent a concept change, with a new chef coming on board and a menu revitalization. It’s a luxurious restaurant to be sure, so it might be better catered toward the corporate-inclined.
Centrally-located in the Sheraton Centre, Quinn’s Steakhouse is a classy take on the standard Irish pub, offering great cuts of meat and prime banquets to rest your weary-from-the-year bods. They do parties all the time, so if you’re looking for cool runnings you’ve found the right the spot.
From Bannock to Canoe to Jump to Auberge to Luma to Cafe Grill, O&B’s multitude of restaurants are currently still accepting holiday bookings. Sizing varies depending on the establishment, but they’ve certainly one with the space and menu to suit your needs.
