When we found out that a place called Boots & Bourbon Saloon was opening where we could find Monday night football glowing from TV screens, free line-dancing lessons, and karaoke with a live band, we thought, “Have we been magically teleported to Calgary… or at least to the strange cultural playground that is the east end of Montreal?”
We were ecstatic to find out that we no longer have to leave Toronto to get our country kicks. Rock Lobster’s Matt Pettit (who is partnered with the folks behind Kee to Bala for B&B) is bringing a Western themed bar, dining room and dancehall to Leslieville. Open seven days a week and serving up comfort food to up to 350 patrons, this saloon is the reason we see a lot of “Achy-Breaky Heart” dance-offs in our future… and cowboy-style weekend brunches. Boots & Bourbon has its grand opening this Saturday night, but there’s a sneak peek tonight that’s open to the public with country musician Brett Kissel as the special guest.
Boots & Bourbon is located at 725 Queen St. E.
