It’ll be an honour to perform and help bring support to these citizens who are suffering so severely.”
the weeknd
Global Citizen Live is all part of Global Citizen’s Recovery Plan for the World. The a year-long campaign works to help end COVID-19 by calling on governments, philanthropists, and the private sector for financial commitments to help start a global recovery. Global Citizen has earned support worldwide from world leaders, politicians, and other officials as well.

In addition to calling on our governments and leaders to help with COVID recovery, there’s also a major need to curb climate change and world hunger. One of the other main goals of this major media event is to get the resources needed to protect and restore at least 1 billion trees by 2022. These efforts will help slow down the effects of climate change, and provide meals for the 41 million people on the brink of famine.
“Some seem to think that the current crisis is merely an interlude, that the vaccine will take things back to how they were. That is, I believe, a historical mistake. Our growth trajectories have generated highly inflammable inequalities within our very societies, consumed the planet’s natural capital and exacerbated pre-existing geopolitical tensions. Our answer must be a collective one towards new models. I thank Global Citizens for organising this major event in Paris, from where I hope the entire world will hear this message: let’s act together to build a fairer and safer world!”
Emmanuel macron, president of france
The live event will be available to watch on ABC, ABC News Live, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, Twitter, and more.
