Comfort food gets next level thanks to a new Toronto Restaurant. In the west end, at King and Dufferin, a new eatery is combining two of the most soul-satisfying foods in the game. Calzones (basically stuffed pizzas) meet hamburgers to create an entirely new comfort food, oozing with beefy, hearty goodness. Choose from a selection of flavours, like jalapeno or cheeseburger, and redefine everything you know about satisfying a craving.
About the calzone burger
The calzone burger is kind of like an elevated pizza pocket. Huco’s concoction takes two beef patties, then tops them with fresh cheddar cheese and other toppings like green onions, barbecue sauce and mushrooms, among others. The patty and toppings are then wrapped in a dough and topped with yogurt and seeds. The creation goes into an oven and comes out of any comfort food lover’s dream. At Huco’s, calzone burger options include the classic, the double-double, the Canadian (which is topped with bacon, ham and shaved sirloin beef), a hot calzone burger and more. Each option can also be made into a combo for an added bonus.
About Huco’s Pizza And Burger
This newcomer to the Parkdale neighbourhood offers the revolutionary calzone burger as well as pizzas and burgers as separate entities. The restaurant opened its doors in the city this fall. Located at 1210 King Street West (right at the King and Dufferin intersection), the restaurant owner Huco wanted to share the calzone burger with the world. She used to own her own meat shop in Turkey, and brought the conception, alongside other Turkish eats, chicken wings and pizzas, all the way to North America for Torontonians to devour. The restaurant opens daily at 2 p.m. and is open late (2 a.m. during the week and 4 a.m. on the weekends) to satisfy even post-night out cravings.
