The more events that are set to make an appearance in the summer, the higher the excitement. Especially if it revolves around food. Is it obvious that I’m quite the enthusiastic foodie? If you can relate, then you might like this bit of news. Dubbed as the “largest weekly open-air food market in America”, Smorgasburg has officially added Toronto to its list of locations!
Smorgasburg Toronto
In case you haven’t heard about this particular food market, let me tell you what it’s all about. It first launched back in 2011, after which it saw a major expansion in 2016. Now, the market is known for being a regular presence in different cities around the US. This includes weekends at Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Miami and Jersey City. There’s a whole range of local vendors at each event, giving visitors the chance to try out different foods.
Smorgasburg Toronto will be more of a waterfront experience, thanks to the partnership with Waterfront Toronto. The market’s F&B programme is being put together by food writer Suresh Doss, and event producer Landon Logie. At present, some of the confirmed vendors from the city include:
- Sunny’s Chinese
- FeasTO
- Baker-Rae
- American Classics by Cabano’s
- The Secret Chef
The best part? It’s totally free to attend! The market will begin operating on July 23. You can pay a visit every Saturday until September 10. A lot more vendors are expected to join the market, so make sure you don’t miss out.
