I think we can all agree that a meal and show together can make for a pretty good time out. Thankfully, The 6ix is crawling with loads of different places than can make that happen. One such place is Tenny’s, a restaurant in Parkdale, that used to be the home of Tennessee Tavern. It had closed sometime during the earlier time of the pandemic, which then reopened as a new pizzeria space, Gianna’s.
Tenny’s Restaurant in Parkdale
Unfortunately, Gianna’s had been forced to bid goodbye as well back in May this year. But third time could be the charm for this location in the Parkdale neighbourhood with Tenny’s, which opened its doors on June 10. Right when you step in, you can notice the earthy and rustic vibe for the interior. There’s wooden seating, benches and lights covering the area.
The menu features a mix of traditional bar food and beverages. For small plates, you’ve got items like Loaded Perogies, Le Poutine and Pickled Eggs. Along with sandwiches and nachos, there are big plate dishes including Tenny’s Burger and Fried Shrimp & Chips.
You can go for cocktails and beers for drinks, with ones like iced tea and Deljado tequila. The desserts portion is short and sweet, with Flourless Chocolate Cake, and Warm Butter Tart. For entertainment options, Tenny’s offers open mic night, in addition to live performances by a host of bands.
The restaurant also consists of a patio, perfect for the warm season. Tenny’s is located at 1554 Queen Street West.
