Orote Restaurant
To start off, the menu has been curated and prepared by Chef Kwangtaek Lee. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because he used to be the chef at Actinolite, which was named as one of Canada’s 100 best restaurants. He brings with him years of experience and lessons learnt to the new Korean joint.
You might be thinking, what makes Orote stand out? Right off the bat, the restaurant doesn’t serve an a la carte menu. Instead, they serve a five-course prix fixe menu, which is priced at $78. There are two options to choose from for three of the courses and for dessert, they just serve the one. It’s brown butter cake with sweet potato ice cream.
The menu can also be altered to factor in vegan alternatives. Reservations for the new Korean restaurant in the 6ix can be made online via Tock.
