Bottoms up folks, there’s a new craft brewery in town! With Matt Tompkins and Adam Shier at the helm, True History Brewing has found a home at St. Clair West Village. The brewery in Toronto had been contracting out of Junction Craft Brewing for the last couple of years, making this the first stand-alone spot.

The brewery’s existing taproom has four beers available at present. You’ve got Just A Pils (German pilsner), Whole Menu, Twice (North German pilsner), Vermont Honk (East Coast Pale Ale), and Long Lunch (West Coast Pale Ale). The interior also has two types of faucets used for getting the drinks.
The food menu is pretty compact as well. The dishes are curated to pair with the beverages, keeping it plate-style as opposed to too-heavy mains. There’s pretzel with spicy cheese sauce, a cheese plate, curly cucumbers, Maizal’s tortilla chips with a spicy eggplant dip, and cold water shrimp.

You can also find tiborna bacalhau on the menu, which is a snack-like item that comes from Portuguese flavours. True History has plans to have a bottle shop section to the menu as well.
The spacious interiors have earthy tones and wood panelling. There’s also going to be an outdoor patio at a later date. True History Brewing is located at 1154 St. Clair Avenue West. This is the previous location of the pizzeria, Big Slice.
True History is open on Fridays from 4pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm.
