It’s been a pretty warm summer so far folks, which means more time to enjoy those sunshine days! The patio season vibes are going strong and it’s no secret that our city is filled with endless options. Of course, one of the best locations to get in those drinks & eats and views is the Toronto Waterfront. And this year, the Waterfront BIA has opened up even more patios where guests can take in the serene view while sipping on a cocktail. 😉

Each patio comes with its unique food and drink offerings and there’s something for everyone. We had the amazing opportunity to check out some of these hotspots and we’re here to breakdown all the deets for our readers.

If you follow us on Instagram @ViewtheVIBE, you must of caught wind of our Takeover on the @TOWaterfront Instagram hosted by our very own, Mili Jain (@thecityismineTO) and Steven Branco (@mr.stevenbranco).

Parking + Transportation

Getting around the Toronto Waterfront couldn’t get any easier. Whether you’re driving over, biking, transit or solely walking over… it literally is the easiest place to get to no matter where you’re headed from.

Parking

Toronto Parking Authority and Green P Parking Lots

From Green P Parking Lots, to street parking areas and even a number of private parking lots, there is more than enough options. That said, they are less available during peak times and the area can get a little congested during traffic times, hence why we always suggest transit, walking or riding a bike over. It also makes for easier stop and go across the waterfront, but if necessary there are also certain locations that have free parking available, like the Harbour Sixty Steakhouse for example, which also has valet available.

Transit

One of the greatest things about the waterfront is literally how accessible it is. With it being steps to the GO bus station, TTC’s union station, yet also having the TTC streetcars passing literally right across the harbour–there couldn’t be an easier way to get around. Trying to plan your way to get around? Pull up Google Maps and select the transit option for the easy play by play.

Toronto’s Harbour Front is quite literally one of the best routes to take advantage of the Bike Share Toronto program–especially because it’s free every Wednesday, thanks to CAA. Because they are literally spanning right across the Harbour, they’re perfect for spending the day hopping across the Harbour from cafe to cafe, or even making it through the number of restaurants, bars, shop and more. You can easily grab a bike, ride across, stop park it, and then grab another when it’s time to go again.

The Toronto Waterfront has a plethora of options. Whether you’re looking for a quiet corner to just chill and work out of, a fun vibe to enjoy a couple drinks, or a date night spot… there’s something for everyone.

Here we break down some of our favourites along the Waterfront for you.

THE SLIP | Bar

The bar has a lakeside patio located within the space of the Harbourfront Centre. You can find a variety of beer, cocktails and pub food on their menu and enjoy the beautiful waterfront view.

HARBOUR 60 | Steakhouse Restaurant

If you want a taste of fine dining at the waterfront, then Harbour 60 is the place to be. Situated on the Waterfront parking lot, the steakhouse now has its own patio! Perfect for date night, or just a bougie night out with the family, or squad.

IMPACT KITCHEN | Restaurant

For those on the lookout for a more healthier dining option, you don’t want to miss out on the Impact Kitchen. They have an extensive menu with plenty of paleo, vegan and gluten-free options. As well as an array of classes hosted right out front.

AMSTERDAM BREWHOUSE | Bar

A lakeside brewery that serves a variety of beer paired with local dishes. It is also the city’s largest waterfront craft brewery.

BOXCAR SOCIAL | Bar

Built in partnership with Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre, this is the restaurant’s third location. In addition to their specialty coffee, they also offer a full dinner and lunch menu.

JOE BIRD | Restaurant

Calling all fried chicken lovers! Whether you’re in the mood for a brunch or just some good  ‘ole fashioned BBQ & fried chicken, Joe Bird is your spot. The space has a water-facing patio and a lounge area as well.

MIKU | Restaurant

A Japanese fine-dining restaurant that specializes in flame-seared sushi, also known as aburi sushi. The restaurant originated in Vancouver, with the Toronto location placed at the RBC Waterpark Place.

AGAINST THE GRAIN | Bar

With a variety of beer, wines and cocktails, it’s the perfect brunch spot. Along with a daily food menu, they also have a separate brunch one as well to enjoy by the waterside.

Coffee, Tea + Gelato

Some of our favourite spots to sit back and relax over some java, tea or gelato.

TOUTI CAFE

It’s not summer without having a taste of some delicious gelato and Touti Cafe does not disappoint. They offer over 150 flavours, along with special sorbet and alcoholic flavours. Other menu items like waffles, crepes and pastry are also available.

LAVAZZA, WE BREW COFFEE

Lavazza is the go-to spot for some freshly brewed coffees and cold drinks. There is certainly a lot to choose from and they also house plenty of bakery options.

SHARETEA WATERFRONT

If you’re a bubble tea fanatic like us, then the Sharetea Waterfront is a must visit. You can find different varieties of fruit tea, milk tea, brewed tea and so much more!
