Let’s face it, the saying that “the best camera is the one that’s with you” is so right. There’s nothing worse than coming across the perfect moment to snap a shot and not having a camera on you..or worse, not having it setup. But most often, it’s those in the moment shots that truly last a lifetime. So having a smartphone with a top-of-the-line camera is ideal, because it’s always close by — if mine is ever more than an arms stretch from me, I begin to panic, lol. So when Apple announced their iPhone 13 Pro, and the incredible specs on it…it blew my mind! But not just me, creators all over the world are raving about it.

In fact, I’ve personally come across some of my favourite Canadian creators raving about it just as much as I have. Like the Beckerman Twins, Elise Purdon of @apoelise, and even our good friend, who you may know as the King of IG Autumn VIBES and Images of Canada, Sanjay Chauhan (@jayeffex). A lover of nature, the outdoors and literally chasing autumn beauty. He shared with us some of his captures with Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro.
How to Use the Apple iPhone 13 Pro’s Macro Mode?
It’s crazy to see how the phone so intuitively just jumps from regular to wide or macro so seamlessly…and to answer your burning question I know you’re already thinking, there’s no button or “way to turn it on,” per se, it just does. As soon as you go up close and personal (within 10cm of an object) the phone adjusts the mode and allows you to focus on something extremely close (virtually as close as you can get it, lol). As a photographer myself, it’s crazy to think, you don’t need to be swapping lens, and lugging around pounds upon pounds of glass everywhere. Mind boggling actually.
Luckily for me, I also got to put it to the test on my recent trip to Terceira, Azores (one of the islands of Portugal in the Atlantic ocean) this past September. Often I found myself spotting something from afar and whipping out my phone as I run over, or slowly reaching for it so I don’t scare whatever I was trying to shoot a photo of. Funny enough one day I even jumped out of the car to snap a roadside shot with these beautiful flowers and thought, let me test out the macro, only to then realize there was a little lizzy creature (not quite sure what species it is) sitting within the branch of flowers I was shoot with.
Needless to say, I’m loving it, and there’s no doubt in my mind you will too. If you happen to snap any cool shots with it from around The 6ix, tag us @viewthevibe and we would love to share.
