Celebrity Chef David Adjey (of Food Network’s The Opener and Restaurant Makeover) has a new venture, and one we’re a little excited about. (Especially since we just moved into a new office a couple blocks away.) The Chickery is officially opening tonight at 102B – 130 Spadina Avenue, after an intro soft-launch yesterday. What’s on menu? “Real Tasty Chicken and Sides.”
Chef Adjey is an interesting character. He can come across as manic and hot-tempered on his shows, but I’ve met him a couple times and he’s nice as can be. (Playing it up for the cameras…Reality TV indeed.) On The Chickery’s Facebook Fanpage you can see a little peek at the space – white brick walls, a long communal table with bowed stools. There’s also an Instagram pic of a gorgeous looking Chinese Chicken Salad.
For the restaurant, Adjey teamed up with Danny Farbman of What-a-Bagel fame. So let’s expect some fancy food done real fast. Perfect for the lunch crowd…aka…the View the Vibe team.
