The snow has arrived, which means the holiday season is upon us! Keeping in line with traditional Toronto moments, Christmas windows have been unveiled and trees have been lit. Here are some of the locations you can check out for some fun and exciting holiday cheer!
Hudson’s Bay on Queen St. West revealed their five window displays on Thursday, November 14. Each display is a part of Santa’s workshop and features various elements like making snow and ornaments. An interactive feature has also been added to one of the windows. Pressing a button on the outside will get you a high-five from a robot inside the display.
CF Toronto Eaton Centre
If that wasn’t exciting enough, Toronto Eaton Centre’s annual tree lighting also took place on November 14. Thousands of people gathered at the mall to witness the unveiling of the 108-foot-tall tree, the largest of its kind in the country. A total of 160,000 LED lights adorn the tree this year. The lighting event was hosted by Canadian tennis champion, Bianca Andreescu.
Toronto Christmas Market
The Toronto Christmas Market also officially opened its doors to the public with its own tree lighting ceremony. The opening ceremony of its 10th year was celebrated with a performance by one of Canada’s top artists, Chantal Kreviazuk. The Balsam Fir Christmas tree stands tall at 50 feet and is lit up completely with a theme of cool blue and silver.
