Now this is just plain cool…
With the social sphere ever changing, it can be hard for restaurants to stay on top of the latest trends, let alone be a pioneer in setting them. But Earls Restaurants, Ltd. recently parlayed their socialness (I was going to say socialism, but the connotations with that term don’t at all seem apropos) into a new Facebook app that redefines the concept of “social dining.”
The Earls Social Menu, viewable here, is a pictorial display of their most popular menu items. Like a gallery, you ask? Sort of… but it goes that much farther by being a Facebook hub wherein users can love an item or recommend it to any of their friends, increasing the menu content’s dissemination across multiple users’ networks in a way that’s quite a bit more powerful than simply liking or sharing a photo from a gallery.
Created with design firm Invoke, Earls Social Menu is an innovative and creative take on harnessing the power of Facebook. By using the same directives – like, recommend – users are already accustomed with, the app is able to easily engage with Earls audience in a more visceral, and visual, way.
