Elisabeth Hasselbeck bid adieu to her time on The View yesterday, and today we’re experiencing a massive void in our lives. Who in the world will ever offend us first thing in the morning with antiquated views of the world? We were getting used to having our morning coffee with milk, sugar and two teaspoons of pure rage. Sure, she’s going over to Fox & Friends this September, a place she’ll feel right at home with her extreme right-wing opinions and pro-Republican sentiments, but we haven’t watched a fictional morning show since childhood, so we won’t be tuning in. In order to keep our morning adrenaline rush of anger and oh-my-gawd-who-would-ever-say-that? going, we’ve compiled a list of Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s Most Outrageous Moments from The View.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck versus Rosie O’Donnell
Does this one really need explaining?
Melissa Etheridge and Gay Marriage, 2008
When Etheridge asked Hasselbeck if she supported same-sex marriage, the openly Republican co-host said it wasn’t a “personal issue” but a “legal issue.” Yikes.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck versus Erin Andrews
Hasselbeck called out Erin Andrews, who was the victim of a peeping scandal, for wearing next to nothing on Dancing With the Stars. Hasselbeck said: “In the past three weeks she’s been wearing next to nothing… I mean, in some way if I’m [the stalker], I’m like, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this — a little bit less, without the prison time!'”
Elisabeth Hasselbeck versus Bill Maher, 2011
Bill Maher was unapologetic about his views of Hasselbeck, so when he finally came on the show, Lizzie didn’t miss her chance to say, “I actually feel smarter sitting next to you.” Bill’s response? “Really? Because I feel like I’m in high school sitting next to you.”
Elisabeth Hasselbeck versus Whoopi Goldberg
The two battled it out over the N-Word and Elisabeth ends the segment in tears. Peace out, girl.
