Tapestry Opera’s Jacquelinestars celebrated soprano Marnie Breckenridge as Jacqueline du Pré, and renowned cellist (and former du Pré protégé) Matt Haimovitz playing Jacqueline’s only constant companion, her cello; Jacquelinedives in the story of celebrity virtuosic cellist Jacqueline du Pré and her real-life struggle with multiple sclerosis that robbed her of her identity, her breathtaking musical gift, and her life.
Inspired by the structure and emotional landscape of Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor, composer Luna Pearl Woolf and Pulitzer Prize winning librettist Royce Vavrek charts the development of great prodigy and ultimately, great tragedy.
