Tetley is bringing Interactive rage room-style experience coming to Toronto. Words are powerful. The right words can be motivating, exciting and empowering. But words can also be used to keep people – especially women – down. Reinforcing negative stereotypes, sometimes in the most subtle of ways.

On October 19, Tetley is offering Torontonians the opportunity to, quite literally, smash those stereotypes at the Tetley Super Tea Break. The opportunity is much like popular “rage room” experiences. Consumers who take part in the Tetley Super Tea Break will be suited up in protective gear and handed a baseball bat. In an enclosed room, they’ll have free reign to use that bat to smash a teacup inscribed with a stereotypical word – weak, dainty, fragile are among the words on offer – commonly used to diminish women.

The event is being held to coincide with the launch of Tetley’s new collection of Super Teas. It is the first collection of teas in Canada fortified with vitamins and minerals. The teas are “modern teas for modern tea drinkers.” The entire launch campaign focuses on celebrating strong and powerful women.

Visitors will also be able to sample the three new Super Teas:

• BOOST: An excellent source of Vitamin B6, which is a factor in energy metabolism
• IMMUNE: High in Zinc, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system
• ANTIOX: A source of Vitamin C, which acts as an antioxidant
